My name is Kerisa and I’ll be your tour guide today.

I’m a Freelance Travel Writer, Copywriter and Social Media Manager for women-led brands in the outdoor camping industry, full-time traveler, and a travel blogger (over achiever, I know).

I’m a full-time RVer who’s traveled in her 89 square foot home on wheels with her husband and fur kids for the past 2.5 years.

I’ve wandered in all 50 states, and even backpacked Europe for a month after a heart-breaking divorce (but we’ll save that conversation for another day and another bottle of wine).

So needless to say, traveling, being outside, and exploring are not only my lifestyle, it’s my way of life. Nay, it is my life.

There is no one more powerful than a woman with a dream, a mission, and a fiery spirit. Outdoorsy women are a different breed. We’re strong, fierce, a bit rough around the edges and we like to get our work done as best and quickly as possible, so we can get back to the great outdoors.

Honestly, nothing makes me happier than emailing my client on a Wednesday afternoon and getting an Out of Office response with something like “It was too nice of a day to be inside, going for a hike, will respond tomorrow if the weather doesn't suck.”

Get to know Kerisa

I'm freelance travel writer and copywriter specializing in blogs, articles, newsletters, and social media captions for women-led outdoor and camping brands.

I've wanted to be a writer ever since I was a little girl. I wrote my first "book" when I was in grade school. When other girls were playing with dolls, I was playing in my parent's camper in our driveway, pretending that the camper was my studio office and writing stories of an adventurous dog in the West on these blank notecards (that were probably supposed to be for math practice).

Fast forward to my late 20s while rediscovering myself at Boise State University, I'm sitting in a magazine article writing course taught by Travel Writer, James P Kelly (author of the MOON Idaho Travel Guide book), and it hits me in the middle of class, I want to be a travel writer and travel the U.S. full-time.

I'm now a Copywriter who travels in her own camper trailer, and is currently writing this with my dog and cat beside me. So I'm not saying I'm a self-fulfilled prophecy, but maybe I am.

My career has evolved from miserable Customer Service Representative in local government for over a decade, to Virtual Assistant, to Social Media Manager, to a living-the-dream Copywriter and Travel Blogger.

Outside Voice Collective was founded in 2017 and has been a beautiful evolution to what it is now.

I travel full-time with my Toyota Tacoma, 17 foot toy-hauler trailer, husband, and my fur kids Tiskies and Butters. I grew up camping and have camped in everything from tents, to cars, to pop-up tent trailers, to 26+ foot travel trailers.

My husband is a Workamper and works seasonally for campgrounds all over the U.S. So yes, my neighborhoods are literal campgrounds, my neighbors are fellow full-time travelers or happy campers. My entire life revolves around camping and traveling.

I can truly say I'm living the dream, and I don't take that for granted. I believe my Dharma, my life's purpose is to travel the world, experience life, tell my stories, and to encourage others to get out there and see the world. I'm blessed to say I'm doing just that.

I'm born and raised in California, spent my 20s in Idaho and have been on the road since 2020. My storytelling voice reflects my laid-back California roots, an adventurous PNW vibe, and a wanderlust soul with no roots - only wings baby.

FUN FACT: My favorite song is "Ends of the Earth" by Lord Huron and that was the song I walked down the aisle to at our wedding.
